Chulu East Peak Climb leads on top highest trekking peaks of Nepal Himalaya rising above 6,584m / 21,601ft high, exactly listed as per NMA classification of trekking peaks (Nepal Mountaineering Association), truly a great climb which inspires you for next high adventure with an experience of lifetime.

Chulu East Peak Climb leads on the same trail of Annapurna Circuit route, where our treks diverts from Pisang village towards complete wilderness of barren and arid country to reach our major destination at Chulu East Peak base camp at above 3,910 m high with sweeping panorama of northern Annapurna with Damodar Himal including all Chulu’s peaks.

The climb is determined after much rest days for acclimatization and some practice and exercise on rock and ice climb by our expert climbing guides leading you all the way to the summit of Chulu East Peak and safely back.

Grading of the climb is taken from French & Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification System as PD + means ‘Per Difficule’ where it leads you on moraine and glaciers with some technical difficulties at areas before the summit, where our guides will support you with necessary and safe climb making the ascent much possible.

After the climb feeling in high spirit walk leads on the main trail to major Manang village and then towards Thorang-la pass with a climb to the top at 5,416 m high rewards you with amazing panorama of Chulus-Annapurna-Damodar Himal with Dhaulagiri range of mountains. Slowly our walk comes to an end after heading downhill to Kali-Gandaki River valley walking past holy Muktinath, an important religious spot for Hindus, and then with last day of trekking reaching at Jomsom, a headquarter town of Mustang district.

Best Season For Chulu East Peak Climb
Spring ( March to May )

  • Benefits: Waether is grdaually warming.This is a favored season because the weather stays steady.Climbing is cozier at higher altitudes, which are comparatively warmer.Blooming rhododendron forests add to the trek's beauty.You'll enjoy superb visibility with clear mountain vistas.
  • Drawbacks:It can get crowded, especially on parts of the Annapurna Circuit.

Summer ( June to August)

  • Benefits: Weather is warm and wet.The scenery is lush thanks to the rain.Fewer trekkers mean a quieter experience.
  • Drawbacks:Rain brings an elevated risk of landslides and leeches.Clouds and fog might hinder visibility.Snow and ice can become unstable and challenging for climbing.Generally not advised for climbing

Autumn ( September to November)

  • Benefits: Weather is cool with clear skies. Arguably the best time for clear mountain views.Steady weather with little rain.Moderate temperatures, not too cold at high elevations.The foliage turns golden, creating beautiful scenery.
  • Drawbacks:A popular season, so expect busy trails, particularly in October.

Winter  (December to February)

  • Benefits:Solitude on the trail with fewer fellow trekkers.
    Sharp and unobstructed mountain views.
  • Drawbacks:Days can be pleasant, but nights get very cold, sometimes below freezing, even at lower altitudes.Snowfall can block the trail and make climbing tougher.Avalanches become more likely in some spots.Proper cold-weather gear is essential.

Starting fabulous adventure to Chulu East Peak Climb with an interesting overland drive towards Nepal mid west, leading to Besisar town (headquarter of Lamjung district). From here transfer to another vehicle and continue drive on dirt road passing villages of Khudi, Bulbule and Ngadi following the Marsyangdi River upstream.

Drive continues through rice terraces fields and villages to Syange a small village for overnight stop in the comfort of nice lodge.

From Syange our first day trek begins, starting on winding path to Jagat and Chamje village following Marsyangdi River and within forested area with super views of Annapurna and Manaslu range.

Walk continues reaching at Tal village located on a nice valley, after Tal few hours walk to Dharapani village for overnight stop.

Dharapani a nice village with Buddhist culture, situated on the junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking trail.

Start the morning walk a into cool rhododendron and pine forest passing villages of Bagachap and Danque, then to Timang village from here onwards into more Buddhist area, with super view of Mt. Manaslu 8,163m / 26,781ft, from this village few hours trek leads to a large town at Chame for overnight stop, a major town and headquarter of Manang district.

From here air gets cooler as the walk leads closer into mountains through beautiful forest of rhododendron and pine trees, following Marshyangdi River upstream to Bhratang village.

From this village an uphill into pine trees to Dhukure Pokhari a small place with few lodge and views of Chulu and Pisang peak, after a lunch stop walk downhill to Pisang village for overnight stop.

After overnight in Pisang village, where our walks leads away from main trail for some days away from main Annapurna circuit route heading towards complete wilderness, as our route leads into barren and arid terrain.

Looking around excellent views of Annapurna and Chulu peaks, as walk continues higher above Nagawa village, leading towards North West into more arid and dry terrain to reach at Jhulu small village for first camping of the adventure.

A necessary rest day an important for acclimatization and preparation for the adventurous climb to the summit of Chulu East peak, here marvel the grand views and take a short hike around this remote Julu village located high with grand scenery of mountains and of Chulu’s peaks.

After rest at Julu village, our route leads towards our main destination at Chulu base camp as morning walk leads higher up towards remote within complete wilderness with views of Chulu’s and northern Annapurna range of mountains.

Climb leads above scenic Manang valley towards Chulu East close to Chulu Far East Peaks, after a tough climb reaching a rocky moraine area on top of a ridge to set our base camp for the climb.

This will be a perfect and ideal spot for base camp beneath towering Chulu East Peak with amazing views of surrounding mountains and dramatic landscapes.

A short day but tough due to high altitude, as our morning walk follows a faint and vague path where few climbers and Yak herders hardly use this route to set a high camp.

Walk leads over rocks, ice and glacier to reach at the very bottom of Chulu East Peak where high camp is set for the climb, this will make more approachable towards its summit top for next morning climb.

Afternoon our guide will scout the area for safe approachable and accessible route to its summit by fixing ropes and making ice ledges where necessary.

High Camp situated on a rocky and ice spot right beneath Chulu East Peak, under some conditions this area may be under snow, afternoon free to sort the gear and full preparation for exciting climb.

With pleasant stop around remote areas at Julu village walk leads downhill to Manang valley on route Braga villages before Manang village, where a nice walk to visit one of the most important monastery the oldest Gompa of Manang areas.

At Braga monastery an interesting place with Buddhist relics, ancient wall painting, frescos and super panorama of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour walk to Manang village where houses are of traditional Tibetan style with culture and traditions.

Morning walk leads closer to Thorang-la as the walk progress crossing a bridge and then a climb along the Jarjung River, then leading at Thorang Phedi for short rest and then climb the last hour uphill to Thorang High Camp for overnight stop.

Start the early morning walk on this Big Day! A thrill and highlight of this great adventure, after breakfast a long climb up to Thorang-la with steep haul to reach at 5,416 m / 17, 872 ft on top of Thorang-la decorated with Buddhist prayer flags.

After Muktinath, rest of the journey is easier with moderate walks all the way with a big drop of 1,200m downhill to Kaligandaki river valley, this pleasant walk leads to Kaligandaki river valley, from here walk to Jomsom for last overnight stop of this marvelous adventure.

Jomsom headquarter town of Mustang area with a small airstrip above Kaligandaki River and main place of local Thakali tribes the native of Kaligandaki areas interwoven with Buddhism religion.

Early morning transfer to Jomsom airport where the flight times are before 10 a.m. (due to heavy winds that exists on afternoon).

Boarding into a small aircraft either Twin Otter or Dornier then taking off for Pokhara with sweeping panorama of Dhaulagiri-Nilgiris and Annapurna range of mountains.

On reaching Pokhara transfer to respective hotels for overnight stop by the Lake Phewa.

Pokhara, a popular touristic city, where the peaks of Annapurna Mountain range reflects on its beautiful serene lakes of Phewa and Begnas.
