Best Season For Mt. Everest South Col Expeditions
Spring ( April to May)
- The best time of year for mountain climbers with the highest number of successful climbs is when it's not too cold and there's more daylight. The snow paths are firmer, but there might be bigger cracks in the ice. There are more people trying to reach the top during this time, which can slow things down. The weather is good, there are known paths to follow, and most climbers make it to the summit.
Summer ( June to August )
- This time of year is not the favorite among many because there's a lot of snow fall, and that increases the chances of avalanches, which are dangerous. The snow piles up on the route, making it tricky and risky. Very few people go during this time, and the dangers are much greater than any advantages.
Autumn ( September to October )
- This time of year is the second most favored, just after spring, but it's not as crowded. The air is drier, but it gets pretty cold, especially at night. The ice is tougher, and there are fewer cracks in the ice, but the snow bridges might not be as reliable. There are fewer people around, so you can enjoy more peace and quiet on the mountain. It's a calmer climbing experience with fewer well-known paths, but the clear skies make it beautiful.
Winter ( December to February)
- Not many people try this because it's super cold. The temperatures are extremely low, and there can be strong winds and heavy snow. The snow and ice are really tough, which makes climbing very tricky. Very few folks attempt it, so you'll find yourself pretty much alone. It's a unique and incredibly challenging test of endurance for those seeking the ultimate challenge.
Equipments
The next details will provide you with a basic understanding of what you should carry for the trek. It's crucial not to overlook the necessary items, as they will impact your comfort and safety during the hike. It's just as vital not to weigh yourself down with unnecessary gear during the trek.
