Mt. Amadablam Expeditions an adventure on top most magnificent peaks of all Himalayan range, truly a mountain of beauty and grace which rises above 6,814m and 22,355 ft high, although a lesser 8,000 m and 7,000 m peaks, but one of the toughest climb to its summit top.
Amadablam name comes from Sherpa of Tibetan origin which means ‘Mother with a Jewel Box’, which you can notice looking at the neck of the mountains with big block of iceberg that resembles a box hence it is known as Amadablam.

Mt. Amadablam Expeditions leads you at North Mid East Himalaya range of mountains within high Khumbu valley in the shade of ever present Mt. Everest which is at mere distance due North direction, where our adventure begins within these scenic and beautiful landscapes of towering peaks. Starting our adventure with sweeping flight to Lukla where trek begins and ends, where our adventure leads past many interesting lovely Sherpa farm villages and encountering Mani (prayer walls) along the walks with views of Kongde and Tharmsarku peaks. Slowly our trek leads at Namche Bazaar and towards scenic Thyangboche Monastery areas within serene woodland of tall rhododendron and pine trees with fantastic views of peaks with Mt. Everest and Amadablam at close distance.

From Thyangboche heading to the last permanent Sherpa village of Pangboche, and then leaving the main trail towards complete wilderness at Amadablam base camp beneath the towering and mighty Mt. Amadablam. At base camp with enough time to get acclimatized and some practice climb then heading for the final bid to the summit of Mt. Amadablam, one of the most difficult and technical climb regarded as tough mountain, but with time and patience one can conquer the mountain using the normal and original South West Ridge.

After a heroic climb to the summit heading back safely back to base camp for onward journey to Lukla and then catch a flight to Kathmandu with memorable adventure of a lifetime experience on Mt. Amadablam Expeditions.

Best Season For Mt. Ama Dablam Expeditions
Spring ( March to May)

  • Benefits: Spring is the most liked season for the Ama Dablam adventure. It's not too cold, which lowers the chance of frostbite.Beautiful flowers like rhododendrons and other alpine blooms are in full bloom during this time, making the lower treks very scenic.The weather is usually stable with clear skies, perfect for enjoying stunning views of the nearby mountains.
  • Drawbacks: Since spring is the most popular time, it can get a bit crowded. Climbers might run into traffic, especially on the more challenging parts of the climb.

Autumn ( September to November)

  • Benefis:Autumn, the second most popular season for climbing, offers clear skies and stable weather like spring.The monsoon rain from earlier months clears the air, providing crystal-clear views of the Himalayas.It's cooler than spring but not overly cold, making it a pleasant climb.
  • Drawbacks:Nights can be chillier compared to spring.Just like in spring, some parts might get crowded due to its popularity.

Summer (June to September)

  • Benefits:Less crowded, providing a quieter experience for climbers.The valleys and lower trek paths are lush and green.
  • Drawbacks:Monsoon season isn't advised due to heavy rain, possible landslides, and avalanches.Trails can be slippery and muddy, raising the risk of accidents.Flights to and from Lukla may be unpredictable due to bad weather.

Winter ( December to February )

  • Benefits:You'll have the mountain to yourself, perfect for those who want a more isolated climbing experience.The snow-covered scenery adds a unique beauty to the surroundings.
  • Drawbacks:It gets extremely cold, especially at night, which raises the risk of frostbite and other cold-related problems.Heavy snowfall can make some parts of the climb more difficult.The weather can be unfavorable and unpredictable.

Morning transfer to domestic airport as per your flight time for short panoramic flight to land at Lukla, getting into a smaller aircraft (Twin Otter or Dornier) with 30 minutes on air with great views of Himalayan peaks includes Mt. Everest.

On reaching at Lukla on its unique airstrip known as Tenzing - Hillary airport, from here a slow start with few hours of walks downhill passing many Sherpa farm villages and well tended crops and vegetable fields and terraces with views of Kwangde and Kusum Khanguru peaks.

After 3-4 hours on first day walks reaching our overnight stop in a nice lodge at Phakding, transfer into your rooms with sound of glacial Dudh Kosi River nearby.

Today a long day to reach Namche Bazaar, starting with gradual walk following the river upstream and crossing few bridges to reach at Sagarmatha National Park entrance near Monjo village.

Sagarmatha for Everest in Nepalese and Sherpa calls Chomolungma in both languages means 'Great Mother' from here a pleasant walk on river bed and then climb for few hours into forested trail with views of snow capped peaks, as the walk reaches you at exciting town and village at Namche Bazaar.

A rest and a free day at Namche Bazaar for proper and necessary acclimatization at this great height of above 3,440 m high before heading higher ground, at Namche spend the day with scenic hike around and browsing the streets and shops, Namche holds a colorful and busy Saturday Market every week.

From Namche walk leads on gradual scenic winding path with downhill to Imjatse River to reach at Phunge-Tenga for lunch, afternoon with uphill climb into tall rhododendron, pines, fir forest with grand views of snowcapped peaks.

After few hours of scenic and strenuous climb reaching at Thyangboche Monastery area, here enjoy the marvelous views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtenga, Tharmarserku, Kwangde with magnificent Mt. Amadablam, afternoon with time to visit its interesting monastery and observe monks and priest on prayer.

With a visit of the monastery walk continues on pleasant downhill for an hour to a bridge, where tree lines stops for short juniper and rhododendron bushes known as azalea facing dramatic change in landscapes.

Heading higher up to the last permanent village at Pangboche, from here onwards are temporary settlement to cater the needs of trekkers.

At Pangboche for overnight stops in a nice and cozy lodge with close views of majestic Mt. Amadablam.

At Pangboche with rest day and preparations for the climb, where one can hike up to upper Pangboche village to visit its old monastery in a serene environment and as well practice climb on nearby rocky cliffs and walls.

From here our real and true adventure starts with a descend towards Imjatse River after crossing a small wooden bridge, then onward with steep climb for an hour to reach a large grazing field with some Yak herders hut and shades.

Walk continues for another few hours with gradual up till Amadablam base camp is reached on a large grassy field beneath towering Mt. Amadablam, our first nights camp is set on a large wide field.

A necessary rest day at base camp for final preparation for the climb and onward adventure, here with time for hike to advance camp and to high hills for grand views of beautiful landscapes and mountains or just relax and enjoy the surrounding views in complete serenity.

We have reserved 15 days for the climb to the summit of majestic Mt. Amadablam, during these over two week period all climbers and staff will be busy reloading and dividing gears for the final ascent to the summit and back at base camp after the climb.

Walk follows on grassy moraine ridge heading eastwards into a broad saddle with views of Mingbo-La and then towards northern direction and then climb to a rocky area through ridge of boulders beneath Pt.5, 705 which is the site for Camp I.

From here climb on snow and Ice slope following a mix ground to the top of the highest hanging glacier, an ice crest leading to a nice position all the way to the summit of Amadablam rewards you with grand vista of surrounding world highest peaks with Mt. Everest towards north, after a hard and tough but exciting climb descend back safely to base camp using Advance Camp on downhill.

Where all team-members should reach at Base Camp for final re-grouping, includes guide and staff, to assist packing equipments and checking each member health condition after the great climb of a lifetime experience.

Start packing all climbing gears and disposing garbage in proper sites, where SPPC (Sagarmatha Pollution Control) will check the camp and depositing the litter to take away from the base camp to disposal sites or back to Kathmandu.

Morning after a successful climb on top Mt. Amadablam, return journey to Pangboche on downhill to Imjatse River with steep climb to reach at Pangboche village.

Walk continues retracing the same route from Pangboche, after crossing a bridge an hour climb to Thyangboche Monastery for overnight stop within amazing panorama of mountains with Everest and Amadablam.

From head downhill to Imjatse River at Phunge Tenga, after crossing a bridge with steep uphill for an hour then on gentle winding walk all the way to Namche Bazaar for refreshing stops and then descend towards Dudh Kosi River, where walk leads into Sagarmatha entrance and exit gates to reach at nice Monjo village for overnight stop before Lukla.

After Monjo last day walk of the adventure back to Lukla on same gradual scenic route on gradual winding trail passing Phakding and Ghat village then with last uphill climb to reach at Lukla for lunch and overnight stop, evening party and last dinner after a successful climb on Mt. Amadablam.
