Mardi Himal Trek

Mardi Himal Trek

Overview And Highlights

Located just east of Annapurna Base Camp trail, Mardi Himal Trek is hidden gem of Annapurna region. This trek follows the less-crowded trail with picture perfect settings and spectacular mountain views. Very few trekkers till date have make their way to the Mardi Himal Base Camp majestically situated at the foot of Mardi Himal and impressive Machhapuchhre.

Mardi Himal Trip is perfect for those who are seeking for beaten off trekking experience in quieter part of Annapurna region. It is the lowest and probably the less-trodden trekking peaks in Nepal.

The trail follows small winding paths and goes along the magical rhododendron forest until we rise above the forest line at 3,300m. On the way, we admire the solitary trail filled with emerald forest, picturesque villages, deep valleys, terraced farms, dazzling rivers and exceptional view of Annapurna, Machhauchhre (Fishtail) and Hiunchuli mountains.

From High Camp (3540m), we climb high above the Mardi Himal Base Camp and further to the viewpoint, which serves exceptional up close view of entire Annapurna range. We make a small circuit up to the Mardi Himal Base Camp so that we don’t have to retrace over the same route again.

The teahouses and homestays along the trekking route are very basic (but are in state of improvement). In forest camp, there are only three teahouses to stay at. If you are planning to trek Mardi during winter, we suggest to check the availability of teahouses and homestays.
