" The brief Pikey Peak trek guides you to the remote and less-explored Solu Khumbu Region. "

The Pikey Peak Trek offers an incredible trekking experience to one of the best vantage points for observing Everest. Many trekkers consider it the ideal spot to catch a glimpse of Everest, and even Sir Edmund Hillary himself cherished it as his favorite viewpoint for admiring Everest. The name "Pikey" is derived from the local Sherpa Clan's deity, symbolizing the sky over nature.

This newly introduced trekking route in the Khumbu region provides the opportunity to witness Everest and the lower Khumbu region up close, along with its enchanting landscapes. The sunrise and sunset views over the towering peaks create unforgettable memories. Beyond the majestic Himalayan vistas, you'll have the chance to explore the unique geography and the life it sustains. The intriguing Sherpa culture and their warm hospitality add to the allure. As a newly discovered trekking path, it offers a less-trodden and serene trekking experience.

The Pikey Peak Trek Itinerary is thoughtfully designed to minimize the risk of altitude sickness by controlling the daily altitude gain. The trail to Pikey Peak is adorned with lush forests of rhododendron, oak, and pine, and it leads you through charming villages perched on ridge tops surrounded by terraced fields.

From Pikey Peak, you'll be rewarded with magnificent views of mountain peaks, including Dhaulagiri, Everest, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga to the far west. The tea house accommodations along the trek route are simple, offering basic facilities. The Pikey Peak Trek is suitable for anyone eager to witness Himalayan peaks and experience authentic local life within a few days.

Best Time For Pikey Peak Trek

  • The best times for the Pikey Peak Trek are autumn (September to December) and spring (February to June) due to pleasant weather and stunning views. Autumn also brings festive joy to Nepal, while spring blooms with colorful flowers.
  • However, during the monsoon season, heavy rainfall can lead to landslides, slippery trails, and encounters with leeches. Yet, it's a paradise for botanists with lush vegetation.Winter brings extreme cold, making it less ideal for many trekkers. If you trek in winter, check tea house availability at higher altitudes, as some may close due to cold and snow.
