Pisang Peak Climb an adventure on top 6,091 m / 19,984 ft high rewards you with awesome panorama that you have never dreamed of, that such a beauty exists in these small areas of Nepal Himalaya and around beautiful and scenic Manang valley.

An overwhelming journey leads you on the same tracks of famous and popular Annapurna Circuit trekking trail after an exciting overland from Kathmandu to reach warmer areas of Lamjung district around Nepal Mid West Himalaya and beyond.

As walk progress heading higher country after leaving the low warm sub-tropical of paddy fields and terraces, where our route enters cooler alpine hills covered within enchanting woods of rhododendron-magnolia-oaks and pine trees and visiting local traditional villages of immense culture and custom.

Finally adventure leads past tree lines and into barren and windswept country above scenic Manang valley for the classic climb to the summit of stunning Pisang Peak, the climb is undertaken with much practice and rest day for acclimatization.

After a full preparation, adventure leads for long big haul to the top of Pisang Peak offering you with mind-blowing scenery of beautiful landscapes and snow clad peaks of Annapurna-Manaslu with Chulu group of peaks including Damodar Himal towards north direction.

The climb of Pisang Peak grade is PD + ‘Per Difficule’ which means walking on ice and glacier with rocky sections includes some technical sections to encounter to reach the summit, the grade used from popular French / Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification System as used world-wide.

 After a great adventure on top Pisang Peak, our next journey leads back at Manang valley on the same trail of Annapurna circuit trekking routes, leading past interesting Manang and Braga villages with time to soak in with local Buddhist culture and impressive monastery visit.

Finally our walk leads high above Thorang-La pass at 5,416 m to reach downhill at Mustang areas past sacred Muktinath temple an important pilgrimage site of Hindu religion, and then reaching low areas at flat Kali-Gandaki River valley to complete our mesmerizing adventure at Jomsom town, a major town of Mustang district and home of Thakali people.

From Jomsom our marvelous adventure completes taking a short scenic flight to land at beautiful Pokhara city and its valley by the serene Phewa Lake, located on the laps of Annapurna Himalaya where next day reaches you back at Kathmandu after a great journey and adventure of a lifetime experience on Pisang Peak Climb.

Best Season For Pisang Peak Climb

Spring ( March to May)

  • Benefits: Many climbers choose this time to ascend Pisang Peak because the weather is steady, the temperatures are comfortably warm, and the chances of snowstorms are minimal.Visibility is excellent, and the trekking paths are enriched by colorful rhododendrons and other wildflowers, making the journey even more enjoyable.
  • Drawbacks: Since it's a favored season, the trails can get quite crowded, and the tea houses might be bustling with activity.

Summer (June to August)

  • Benefits: Fewer climbers around, leading to quieter trails.The landscape becomes lush and green thanks to the monsoon rains.
  • Drawbacks:The monsoon means heavy rains, slippery trails, and a higher risk of landslides.Leeches can be bothersome in lower areas.Frequent rain and clouds may affect visibility.

Autumn ( September to November)

  • Benefits:Autumn, another prime season for climbing, brings clear skies, great visibility, and pleasant temperatures.After the monsoon rains, the scenery is vibrant, and the mountains usually wear a snowy, majestic look.
  • Drawbacks:Like spring, the trails can get crowded, and accommodations may be packed.

Winter ( December to February)

  • Benefits:The mountain views are incredibly clear, and the paths are quieter, giving you a tranquil and calm trekking and climbing adventure.
  • Drawbacks:Temperatures can plummet, especially at higher elevations. There's a greater chance of snowfall, and certain sections of the trail might be tough due to snow buildup. Climbers must be ready for extreme cold and have the right gear.

Starting fabulous adventure to Psiang Peak Climb with an interesting overland drive towards Nepal mid west, leading to Besisar town (headquarter of Lamjung district). From here transfer to another vehicle and continue drive on dirt road passing villages of Khudi, Bulbule and Ngadi following the Marsyangdi River upstream.

Drive continues through rice terraces fields and villages to Syange a small village for overnight stop in the comfort of nice lodge.

From Syange our first day trek begins, starting on winding path to Jagat and Chamje village following Marsyangdi River and within forested area with super views of Annapurna and Manaslu range.

Walk continues reaching at Tal village located on a nice valley, after Tal few hours walk to Dharapani village for overnight stop.

Dharapani a nice village with Buddhist culture, situated on the junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking trail.

Start the morning walk a into cool rhododendron and pine forest passing villages of Bagachap and Danque, then to Timang village from here onwards into more Buddhist area, with super view of Mt. Manaslu 8,163m / 26,781ft, from this village few hours trek leads to a large town at Chame for overnight stop, a major town and headquarter of Manang district.

From here air gets cooler as the walk leads closer into mountains through beautiful forest of rhododendron and pine trees, following Marshyangdi River upstream to Bhratang village.

From this village an uphill into pine trees to Dhukure Pokhari a small place with few lodge and views of Chulu and Pisang peak, after a lunch stop walk downhill to Pisang village for overnight stop.

A pleasant rest day at Pisang village, an important for acclimatization as well to maintain physical fitness before heading higher areas with climb to the top of Pisang Peak.

On this rest day suggested short hike around, as walking higher and sleeping at low altitude supports you with acclimatization much better, rest day also helps to plan the climb where our guide provides you with information of the area, culture, religion and climbing skill required for the climb.

After a nice rest and wonderful time at Pisang village, our route diverts from the main trail heading north above Pisang village, as tree lines drops for short bushes within Yak grazing country, which is called as Kharka.

Climb leads on top high ridge above Pisang village, where our guide and staff will set up the first camping with tents to establish base camp for the climb providing full camping equipments at this altitude above 4,380 m high, first night in tents meals prepared by our expert cook and kitchen staff.

A short day but tough due to high altitude, morning walk follows a faint trail where few climbers and Yak herders hardly use this path to high camp, as the walk leads over rocks, ice and glacier to reach bottom of Pisang Peak where high camp is set for the climb.

Afternoon our guide will scout the area for safe accessible route to the summit fixing ropes and making ice ledges where necessary, High Camp situated on long ridge of Pisang Peak, under some conditions this area may be under snow, afternoon free to sort the gear with preparation for the early morning climb.

A necessary day for proper preparation and acclimatization for the final ascent to the summit of Pisang peak and this day allows our guide to check the best assailable routes to reach the top of the lofty and dome shaped Pisang Peak.

Our highlight and main target of the adventure start early before dawn climbing over moraine and rubble of ice falls, following our lead guide reaching high above well defined ridge to the last snow slopes.

Climb leads to a steep rocks and ice with some technical sections to tackle to the summit of Pisang Peak with support of Sherpa Climbing guides.

From the summit marvel the spectacular views of Annapurna Mountain range with peaks of Chulu's includes Damodar Himal and Mt. Manaslu towards east horizon.

After being on top and highest spot at 6,091 m / 19,984 ft high, descend on same route back to base camp, as time permits and possible with physical strength after the climb walk all the way to Pisang village.

With pleasant stop around remote areas above Manang valley walk leads downhill to Manang on route Braga before Manang village, where a nice walk to visit one of the most important monastery the oldest Gompa of Manang areas.

At Braga monastery an interesting place with Buddhist relics, ancient wall painting, frescos and super panorama of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour walk to Manang village where houses are of traditional Tibetan style with culture and traditions.

After a good rest at Manang, walk towards Yak Kharka, an interesting high altitude walk with views of mountains, crossing small streams to reach at Yak Kharka, a small settlement with incredible views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks.

Morning walk leads closer to Thorang-la as the walk progress crossing a bridge and then a climb along the Jarjung River, then leading at Thorang Phedi for short rest and then climb the last hour uphill to Thorang High Camp for overnight stop.

Start the early morning walk on this Big Day! A thrill and highlight of this great adventure, after breakfast a long climb up to Thorang-la with steep haul to reach at 5,416 m / 17, 872 ft on top of Thorang-la decorated with Buddhist prayer flags.

Highest point of our adventure, offers superb vista of beautiful landscapes and snowcapped peaks, from here a long descend to Muktinath at 3,800 m.

Muktinath a holy place for both Hindu and Buddhist the word Muktinath literally means ‘the place for Nirvana or Liberation’.

After Muktinath, rest of the journey is easier with moderate walks all the way with a big drop of 1,200m downhill to Kaligandaki river valley, this pleasant walk leads to Kaligandaki river valley, from here walk to Jomsom for last overnight stop of this marvelous adventure.

Jomsom headquarter town of Mustang area with a small airstrip above Kaligandaki River and main place of local Thakali tribes the native of Kaligandaki areas interwoven with Buddhism religion.

Early morning transfer to Jomsom airport where the flight times are before 10 a.m. (due to heavy winds that exists on afternoon).

Boarding into a small aircraft either Twin Otter or Dornier then taking off for Pokhara with sweeping panorama of Dhaulagiri-Nilgiris and Annapurna range of mountains.

On reaching Pokhara transfer to respective hotels for overnight stop by the Lake Phewa.

Pokhara, a popular touristic city, where the peaks of Annapurna Mountain range reflects on its beautiful serene lakes of Phewa and Begnas.
